Analogkameras von Nikon sind hochpräzise mechanische Meisterwerke, diese wollen in rauer Umgebung gut geschützt sein. Am besten mit einer speziell darauf zugeschnitteten Tasche. Nikon hat im Laufe seiner Geschichte eine große Anzahl von Bereitschaftstaschen für die Kameras hergestellt. Diese passen aufgrund der leicht veränderten Aussenmasse meist genau für ein Modell oder eine Modellreihe. Anfangs waren diese Taschen noch aus robust vernähtem Echtleder, oft innen mit weichem Samt gefüttert. Später – ab den Taschen für FM und FE – ging man dann zu Kunstleder in Klebetechnik über.
